What to Pack for a Northern Pakistan Tour

The right luggage makes mountain travel simpler. Pack for changing temperatures, long road days, and the practical needs of lakes, viewpoints, and hotel stays.

Start with layers, not one heavy jacket

Northern Pakistan routes can move between sunny valleys, cool evenings, and exposed viewpoints in the same trip. Bring a light base layer, a warm mid-layer, and a weather-resistant outer layer so you can adjust without overpacking.

A warm shawl or compact jacket is especially useful for early departures and higher stops. Keep one layer accessible during the drive rather than burying it in the main luggage.

Essential items for the road

  • Original CNIC and a digital copy of important booking details
  • Comfortable trekking or jogger shoes with reliable grip
  • Personal medication, basic first-aid items, and any regular prescriptions
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, and a reusable water bottle
  • Power bank, charging cable, and a small torch for hotel or roadside use
  • A compact day bag for camera, water, documents, and extra layers

Pack for the itinerary you booked

A Skardu or Hunza itinerary may include several long road days and visits to lakes, forts, valleys, and mountain viewpoints. Keep your daily essentials in a small bag so you do not need to unpack your main luggage at every stop.

For Naran and Babusar, bring layers even during warmer months because the temperature can change quickly at elevation. Babusar Top access depends on the road being open, so check the current plan with your tour coordinator before leaving.

Keep luggage practical

Soft luggage is often easier to fit into shared vehicle storage than rigid oversized cases. Label your bags, keep valuables with you, and leave room for personal essentials rather than packing for every possible situation.

Noor Tourism's current group-tour information also asks guests to bring an original CNIC. Confirm any updated requirements, hotel arrangements, and weather-related advice before departure.
